Book Settings (running headers)
Book Settings can be found in the navigation bar across the top of the Book Builder page. In Ketty, all books have a two page layout upon export, page left and page right. You can select the layout used for each portion of your book (see below for more information).
By default, the content title is used for the running header on both page layouts. Use this tool to specify what text appears in running headers for the page on the left and the page on the right. You can delete the default value to leave the page header blank.
Examples of when you might use Book Settings
To use a shortened version of the chapter title.
To have the part title on the left page and the chapter title on the right.
To have nothing on the left page and the chapter title on the right.
Note that the template you are using at export will need to include running headers and layouts for both left and right pages. In Book Settings you can customize the running headers for Page Left and Page Right. The Component Title in Book Settings is pulled automatically from the content and cannot be changed here.
Page layout
In the Book Builder you can specify the page layout for each component, part, or chapter.
To specify the page layout:
Navigate to the Book Builder.
For each component, part, and chapter there is a page layout diagram. This is located under the Edit | Delete buttons on the right side of the screen.
Select the box on the left or right.
Your selection is automatically saved.
