Table of contents, endnotes and footnotes
Table of contents
The Table of Contents is automatically generated to include all content that includes a Title (H1) style or Heading 2 style.
Notes (endnotes and footnotes)
Notes are inserted by selecting the Insert Note icon on the toolbar. When editing content, inserted notes are displayed at the bottom of the screen. How notes appear in the exported book, at the end of the chapter (footnotes) or at the end of the book (endnotes), will be determined by the layout of the template you choose at export.
How to Insert a Note:
From the Book Builder select the content you want to edit.
Place the cursor where you want the note reference to appear and select the Insert Note icon from the toolbar. This will place the reference and divide the content into two panes: the draft above and notes below. The notes pane can be resized by clicking and dragging the gray horizontal border up or down.
All subsequent note references will automatically be numbered.
Note that deleting the note reference will delete the associated note.
